Greetings from the Malaysian Evaluation Society (MES).
We are pleased to inform you that the Malaysian Evaluation Society will be holding its third international evaluation conference in Kuala Lumpur from 31 March - 1 April, 2008 followed by 2 days of post-conference workshops from 2-3 April, 2008. There will also be a post-conference developing countries networking seminar on 4 April, 2008 (by invitation only). The Conference is being organised with the endorsement and support of the Ministry of Finance, Malaysia as well as various international agencies/bodies such as the Asian Development Bank, World Bank, UNDP, IOCE, IDEAS, and UNICEF.
Attached herewith is a copy of the Conference brochure for your information. Details of the conference and post-conference workshops as well as the registration forms can also be accessed on the MES website at: www.mes.org.my/mesconf2008.htm
In line with the increasing attention and importance of results-based management, the theme for this year's Conference is Evaluation under a "Managing for Development Results" (MfDR) Environment. The Conference is a great opportunity for you to participate in and update yourself with the latest developments and approaches in MfDR, RBM, and M&E as well as performance measurement related matters, particularly with regard to the public sector. We are confident that the Conference and the post-conference workshops will be very useful to you in your work. It would also be a wonderful opportunity for you to meet and network with a large number of government officials from Malaysia and other countries on RBM, MfDR, and M&E related matters.
Funding: The MES is unable to provide any funding support for the Conference. However, we are urging our supporters such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, and the UNDP to help support the Conference by sponsoring relevant officials to attend the Conference. If you wish to attend but need financial assistance, you may wish to approach your government and/or these donor/aid agencies in your country for possible assistance.
We hope you and your colleagues will be able to join us for the above Conference. Please also kindly circulate the conference information to your friends and colleagues who may also benefit from attending this Conference.
Should you have any questions or need more information on the conference, please do not hesitate to contact us at the following email addresses: email@example.com or our Conference Secretariat at: firstname.lastname@example.org
With kind regards,
